Practical Close-Quarters Defense for the Places That Matter Most

Violent encounters don’t happen on flat ranges or in controlled environments—they happen in hallways, doorways, stairwells, and bedrooms. Home Defender is a civilian-focused course designed to teach responsible, practical methods for defending and securing a home when avoidance is no longer possible.

This course introduces students to the realities of close-quarters movement and structure defense, emphasizing decision-making, positioning, angles, and threat management inside residential environments. The goal is not speed or aggression—it is clarity, control, and survival.

Students will learn how common residential layouts create advantages and liabilities, including:
    •    Narrow hallways and choke points
    •    Stairwells and elevation changes
    •    Corner rooms and center-fed rooms
    •    Limited visibility and unknown spaces

Instruction focuses on threshold assessment, teaching students how to gather information, manage angles, and minimize exposure before committing to movement. We cover both one-person and two-person clearing concepts, emphasizing communication, spacing, and role responsibility where applicable.

This is not a “room-clearing for operators” course. It is a home defense problem-solving course for everyday people—homeowners, parents, and responsible citizens who want to understand how to protect themselves and others if faced with a real-world intrusion.

This course is about preparation, not paranoia. You will leave with a better understanding of how homes work tactically, how to reduce unnecessary risk, and how to make smarter decisions should the unthinkable occur.
