We have three levels of curriculum, each level covering some striking, grappling, use of and defense against weapons. They will also each cover situational awareness, profiling, and practical strategies and tactics to avoid and even prevent danger. Each level graduates to more advanced topics, including room clearing, offensive and defensive driving, stealth, creating security plans, and a myriad of other things. Everyone must attend a Level One course at least once before moving on to Level Two. By doing so, we know all Level Two students have been exposed to everything in Level One. The same goes for subsequent levels.
Everyone must attend a Level One course at least once before moving on to Level Two so that we know those students have been exposed to everything in Level One. The same goes for subsequent levels. A student has to demonstrate proficiency in everything covered in each curriculum level in a Level Certification test to be Sheepdog Certified to that level. Once a person is certified at a certain level, he/she can start the Instructor Certification process for that level.
An applicant for an Instructor Certification to at any level will have to be Sheepdog Certified to that level. The applicant will be provided with Instructor materials and other advice to prepare for the Instructor Certification test. The test will require that the applicant demonstrate a greater proficiency with and deeper understanding of the curriculum than was required in their Level Certification test. The applicant will also have to demonstrate and that he/she can teach the curriculum to our standards. A background check is also required.
Once someone is certified as a certain level, they are qualified to teach that level curriculum to others, and may be hired by us to instruct future seminars!
We will hold Level Certification and Instructor Certification dates as needed in Austin, Texas.
